Privacy Policy

TrashStache ("TrashStache," "we," "us") provides residential trash and recycling bin cleaning services in the New River Valley, Virginia. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or booking service, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Contact information — name, email address, and phone number you provide when requesting a quote or creating an account.
  • Service address— the address where cleanings take place, used to confirm you're in our service area and to schedule your route.
  • Booking details — bin counts, selected extras, cleaning frequency, and preferred day and time.
  • Payment information — processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we retain only high-level billing metadata (amounts, dates, subscription status) needed to manage your account.
  • Communications — records of email and SMS notifications we send you (booking confirmations, reminders, receipts) and any messages you send us.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Schedule, perform, and bill your bin cleaning service
  • Send booking confirmations, day-before reminders, and payment receipts by email and/or text
  • Create and manage your customer account and dashboard
  • Respond to questions and provide customer support
  • Maintain accurate records for accounting, tax, and legal compliance
  • Improve our service based on how customers actually use it

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers who help us run TrashStache, each bound to use your data solely to provide their service to us:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing
  • Supabase — our database and account authentication provider
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (confirmations, receipts, reminders)
  • Twilio — SMS text message delivery

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TrashStache, our customers, or others.

SMS and email communications

By providing your phone number during booking, you consent to receive service-related text messages (booking confirmations, day-before reminders, payment issues) from TrashStache. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of text messages, or contact us directly. Opting out of texts does not cancel your subscription — email and your customer dashboard remain available for account management.

Data retention

We retain account and billing information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations. You can request deletion of your account data at any time (see below), subject to records we're legally required to keep.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Access or update your account information from your customer dashboard
  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Request that we delete your account and associated personal information
  • Opt out of SMS or email communications (except required transactional notices, like receipts)

Children's privacy

TrashStache is a service for homeowners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as TrashStache grows. We'll update the effective date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
